Amaan Hussain + Sriranjani Tapasya

Darbar Festival

Experience the majestic breadth of Indian classical music in one extraordinary evening

Begin your musical journey in the Hindustani tradition as 19-year-old Hussain brings the haunting voice of the sarangi to life. With its 39 strings resonating with emotion, his bow work evokes ancient ragas with spellbinding intimacy. Tabla virtuoso Pandya accompanies him with rhythmic mastery, guiding you from meditative alaap to intricate, intense rhythmic passages.

After the interval, immerse yourself in the Carnatic tradition as Tapasya’s crystalline vocals explore South Indian ragas. Her voice is perfectly complemented by Srikanth’s expressive violin, while Kumar’s mridangam and Udupa’s clay pot percussion create intricate rhythmic landscapes, showcasing Carnatic music’s renowned precision.
