Christy (15)

A young white man stands in a field looking into the sunset

In this raw drama, 17-year-old Christy struggles to find his place in the world in the back streets of Ireland's Cork.

Kicked out of his suburban foster home, Christy moves in with his estranged older brother Shane and his young family. As far as Shane is concerned, this is a temporary arrangement, but Christy begins to feel at home on Cork's working-class Northside.

Shane wants something better for Christy at any cost – even if it means he has to push him away. As the brothers look to reconcile their turbulent past, their family and the community around them offer hope for Christy’s future.

Written by Irish writer Alan O'Gorman, the film stars Danny Power, Diarmuid Noyes, Emma Willis and Chris Walley. With a heartbeat of humour, director Brendan Canty delivers a social-realist drama full of warmth and strength.
