Complicit: A Michael Haneke Retrospective

This Palme' d'Or winner is an honest, sensitive portrait of an elderly couple whose lives shrink when a stroke leaves the wife partly paralysed and speechless.

Michael Haneke's second Palme d'Or winner is a mournful chamber piece that presents the struggles of an octogenarian couple. Marital harmony collapses when Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) has a stroke, and convinces her husband (Jean-Louis Trintignant) to care for her.
