The Teacher (12A)

Two men sit on a couch outdoors, surrounded by rumble

A Palestinian school teacher struggles to balance his political stance, his students, and the chance of love, from Farah Nabulsi.

A Palestinian school teacher (Saleh Bakri) struggles to reconcile his commitment to political resistance with his emotional support for one of his students (Muhammad Abed El Rahman) and the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker (Imogen Poots).

Praised by critics, The Hollywood Reporter wrote, ‘Bakri’s performance is unpredictable from moment to moment…newcomer El Rahman brings youthful fervor to every aspect of Adam, and the transformation he embodies… is extraordinary. The Teacher deftly avoids neat, self-satisfied lessons’
