Tatiana Huezo's intimate documentary follows farming families in a remote village in northern Mexico, as they live their lives dominated by the elements.

In The Eco, a remote farming village, life consists of elementary things. Children and adults work side by side on the farms, their lives dictated by the weather and the seasons.

From director and documentarian Tatiana Huezo known for her sensitively poetic films, such as Prayers For The Stolen and Tempestad, The Echo considers the rigid gender roles that dominate the lives of the women and men in the community, and the insidious ways these roles are taught to children.  

A tender film that watches almost like fiction, that celebrates the grace of all animals and the children of this earth alike.

The film won Best Director at Berlin Film Festival Encounters, and stars Montserrat Hernandez, María de los Ángeles Pacheco Tapia, and Luz María Vázquez González.
