Swan Song (15*)

A group of ballet dancers stand in the dark on stage, dressed in feathered white dresses.

A bold documentary that chronicles the people and dancers of the National Ballet of Canada as they put on a new production of Swan Lake.

Part of the Official Selection at Toronto International Film Festival, this gripping documentary follows the Canadian national ballet as they prepare one of the most well-known and well-regarded ballets of all time.

Not shying away from the intensity of the artform, nor its racist histories and present, Swan Song wades deep into the waters of what it really takes, from all parties, to make a phenomenal show.

Asking us how far can, and perhaps more importantly should, people push themselves for art?
