The Pinchers' High Voltage Heist (PG*) + Louie Stowell Drawing Demo, with live BSL

Family Film Week

A family of thieves looks through a gap in a wall.

Get ready for some creative mischief with writer-illustrator, Louie Stowell – author of the deliciously naughty Loki books.

Ture has his heart set on becoming a police officer; he takes his morals very seriously and never lies or steals. Unfortunately, his family – The Pinchers – are a notorious gang of thieves constantly on the look out for their next heist! But, when Ture discovers his dog is stolen property – he must make a choice: give up his best friend to its rightful (and shady) owner, or figure out a way of bending the law to keep his pet.

Based on the book by Anders Sparring and Per Gustavsson, this mystery romp is full of fantastic set-pieces, larger than life characters and an unexpectedly dastardly villain.

Before the film, Louie will lead a drawing demo inspired by the best baddies and most villainous scallywags! There will be a live BSL interpreter on stage for this part of the event.

11am Free Workshop

Working with artist Fatima Rodriguez, this workshop is designed for families to engage in a creative, hands-on activity exploring the themes of the animated film Despicable Me 4 and The Pinchers’ High Voltage Heist.

Families and children will design and create their very own villain masks using recycled materials, connecting with the Halloween theme and the film's focus on villains. Children can use their imagination to design a mask based on either their favourite film villains or their own original creations.
