The Inspection (15) (AD)

A young stands in a military line up in uniform.

Inspired by true experiences, Elegance Bratton auteurs The Inspection, a magnifying portrayal of a homeless young Black man who joins the Marines in order to prove himself.

Jeremy Pope will take your breath away as a queer man failing to hide his sexuality in the toxic ecosystem of a military bootcamp. A24 presents The Inspection, a raw yet beautiful film about a young man looking for purpose in a cruel and homophobic world.

Having been rejected by his mother at 16, Ellis has been homeless for years. Searching for meaning, he enrols in the Marines, doing whatever he must to survive in a system that wants to chew him up and spit him out. Through unexpected kinship, he finds the sense of belonging that he has been chasing his whole life.

Premiering at 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, Jeremy Pope and Raúl Castillo are electric in this tale of resilience that will break your heart and put it back together again.
