Two women look in a mirror; one puts on makeup, the other writes in a notepad.

An actress gets under the skin of a couple from a tabloid story about a contemporary reverse Lolita, in this thrilling drama with Julianne Moore, Natalie Portman and Charles Melton.

From Todd Haynes, director Carol and Far From Heaven, comes a sexually charged thriller of a drama.  Actress Elizabeth (Natalie Portman) researches her new role, about a tabloid story about a woman's relationship with a seventh grader.

To get under the skin of the characters, Elizabeth spends time with Gracie and Joe (Moore and Melton): is it love, is it lust, is it something more sinister?

With incredible performances from the two seasoned actors, and a stunning first step into serious drama for teen star Melton, Todd Haynes crafts a world of deception, intensity, and serious moral questioning.
