Mother And Son (12A)

A mother sits in a diner with her two young sons

A mother moves her young sons from the Ivory Coast to Paris in search of a better life in Léonor Serraille's forceful exploration of maturity.

A film that tracks the movements, changes and stages of a young woman's family as they grow up and apart.

Leaving Abidjan to head to Paris with two of her sons, Rose (played incredibly by Annabelle Lengronne) is not sure how to be, or what is the best way to live in order to provide for her children.

Spanning 20 years and following the fall out of decisions, moves and mere moments, Mother And Son is a force of a film that asks us to consider what life is really about.

Written and directed by Léonor Serraille, known for her show stopping 2017 film Jeune Femme, (both of which have shown at Cannes) as Seraille continues to interrogate the lives of Parisiennes and the worlds that exist within the city.
