Kaushiki Chakraborty Masterclass

Photograph of Indian classical Khayal vocalist, Kaushiki Chakraborty

Following her concert, Kaushiki Chakraborty leads a special vocal masterclass, providing tips on developing voice flexibility and the best way to design your ‘riaaz’ (practice) regime.

Trailblazing Khayal vocalist, Kaushiki Chakraborty shares her unique insights into the school of music, Patiala gharana, from which she belongs.  The gharana was inspired by the legend and stalwart, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan (1902-1968), considered by many to be the finest Indian classical vocalist. She’ll also share her own personal archive recordings of her father and Guru, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Discover why she has never eaten ice cream and learn how to develop your voice flexibility and system of practice.

This Masterclass takes place in Frobisher Rooms 4, 5 and 6
