Guildhall String Ensemble

Directed by Jonathan Morton

Guildhall School double bassist

Join the Guildhall String Ensemble for their return to the Milton Court stage with a wonderful programme of British and American works.

Elgar’s exquisite Introduction and Allegro for Strings and Tippett’s exhilarating Concerto for Double String Orchestra bookend music by three American composers – Caroline Shaw, Jessie Montgomery and George Walker – in an evening celebrating the breadth of string composition and performance over the last century.

Jonathan Morton, Artistic Director and Leader of Scottish Ensemble and Principal First Violin of London Sinfonietta, directs the Guildhall School musicians.
