Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (PG) + Introduction from Ghibliotheque

Family Film Club

This animated beauty from Studio Ghibli creators follows Princess Nausicaä, a brave young adventurer who sets out to save her people and their land.

To tie in with the release of Ghibliotheque’s gorgeous new book for young film fans The World of Studio Ghibli, we’re super excited to have its authors Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham along in person to give us some fantastic facts about the studio that brought us Totoro, Kiki, Ponyo and today’s star, Princess Nausicaä (and they might even sign a book for your afterwards if you’re lucky!)

Princess Nausicaä, a brave adventurer living in a poisonous jungle following an apocalyptic war, seeks to live in harmony with the toxic environment and battles those who constantly try to dominate and exploit the natural world. This is rare opportunity to see one of Ghibli’s early and most dramatic stories on the big screen.

We are delighted to have Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham, hosts of the Ghibliotheque podcast, introducing this screening.
