Dance Nation

Guildhall School of Music & Drama

Two girls dancing, one with arm outstretched, pushing the other into the air, against a pastel coloured background

An army of competitive dancers is ready to take over the world, one routine at a time.

Dance Nation depicts the angst and the ecstasy of a troupe of pre-teens, a mixture of the frightened and the feral, thrust into a world of cut-throat dance competition.

With a battle for power and perfection raging on and off stage, Clare Barron's Dance Nation is a ferocious exploration of youth, ambition and self-discovery. Paul Foster directs this Guildhall School production.

Please note this production contains adult content and themes which are not suitable for children, including strong language, sexualised language, scenes of a sexual nature, depictions of blood and self-harm and references to cancer. There will also be strobe lighting, haze and gunshot sounds.
