Amy Gadiaga: Notes on Communion

Carrie Mae Weems: Reflections for Now

Portrait image in black and white of Amy Gadiaga

Join us for a melodic celebration of the work of Carrie Mae Weems. Artist Amy Gadiaga will perform songs inspired by the exhibition Reflections for Now.

Amy (pronounced AH-MI) is a bassist, vocalist, composer, and dancer from Paris based in London. She graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied double bass and won several distinctions including a prize from the Royal Philharmonic Society and was nominated this year for Jazz Newcomer of the Year by the Parliamentary Jazz Awards.

Connecting the old-school jazz tradition of musicians such as Betty Carter or Wayne Shorter with her style, Amy offers performances that celebrate artistry and freedom.
