All the Beauty and the Bloodshed (18) + ScreenTalk with Laura Poitras

Nan Goldin stars at the viewer

A riveting documentary on the life and work of artist Nan Goldin, highlighting her activism against the Sackler family.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras directs this masterful documentary on artist Nan Goldin, which is told through slide shows, intimate interviews, ground-breaking photography, and rare footage of Goldin's personal fight to hold the Sackler pharmaceutical dynasty responsible for the overdose crisis.

Winner of Best Film at the 79th Venice Film Festival, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed pieces together fragments of Goldin’s life, alongside her activism, to create an intricate portrait of an artist who has spent a lifetime battling against social stigma and the powers that be.

We are delighted to welcome director Laura Poitras, who will be in conversation with Barbican Cinema Curator Sonia Zadurian after the film.
