Jamelia Donaldson is the founder and CEO of TreasureTress — a monthly product subscription service for girls and women with kinky-curly hair; and also the co-creator of The Teen Experience, a monthly workshop series which offers young black women to attend a series of personal development workshops for teens. Launched in 2015, TreasureTress has built a connected and unique community, with thousands across the UK interconnecting both online and IRL.
 
Inspired by Jamelia’s want for her niece to have a better natural hair care experience than she did growing up, the entrepreneur also cites frustration with the access to quality hair products in the UK as a motivator for the business’s conception.
 
Now in its seventh year, TreasureTress is continuing to reframe the narrative around natural hair care in the UK and the way Black consumers view and reflect on their natural beauty, all whilst propelling the culture and Black haircare revolution forward.
 
Jamelia has been featured in Forbes, Buzzfeed, Good Housekeeping and Pride Magazine just to name a few. In 2021 Jamelia received AdWeek Europe’s Future Is Female Award. Following the success of the initial white paper, Jamelia has also just recently released the brand’s first official TREND REPORT: The Untapped Opportunity: in the UK Afro Hair Market.
 

Raphael Sofoluke is a serial entrepreneur, author, visionary & Founder and CEO behind UK Black Business Show, UK Black Business Week, Birmingham Black Business Show & Black Tech Achievement Awards. 

The UK Black Business Show was founded in 2017, it is an annual conference and exhibition show which takes place during Black History Month to highlight and promote the amazing businesses founded by people from the black community.

Raphael is also the Co-Author of Twice as Hard book alongside his wife. The book was released in the UK and the US in June 2021, and it is published by DK (Penguin Random House). Twice as Hard will share valuable lessons from 40 Black trailblazers from across the UK and US. It will address the real challenges faced by Black people navigating predominantly white spaces while providing tried and tested recommendations on how to navigate these environments to create personal and professional success. The book includes interviews with Mathew Knowles (Beyoncé & Solange Dad), Trevor Nelson MBE, Bianca Miller, Pamela Hutchinson, Munya Chawawa and many more. 

Remi Burgz is a Radio DJ, Host & Personality from South London. Remi has always had a great passion for music and entertaining people, which explains her rapid growing success in the entertainment industry.

Remi began her radio career in 2017 and shortly afterwards grabbed her own live show on Reprezent Radio. She now hosts the BBC 1Xtra Afternoon Show, every Monday to Friday 1pm – 4pm and is the official DJ for rapper and MOBO award nominee Shaybo. 2021 also saw Remi make her TV debut co-hosting BBC3s incredible ‘Tonight With Target’ show. Interviewing guests such as Jorja Smith, Enny, M Hunco & more. Remi’s infectious energy, which lights up every room she enters, earned her the nickname “The Local Energy Provider”.
