Old Stories, New Takes; TV History Reimagined

In The Mix

Yellow text on a dark army green background 'In The Mix - Old stories, new takes: TV History reimagined.'

How can we breathe new life into familiar stories, change the way we view the past, and bring marginalised voices and perspectives to the mainstream?

In this illustrated session, James van der Pool will look at different approaches to history story-telling. Ranging from presenter-led, classic testimony and archive-based films to more innovative styles and techniques, the session will give a behind-the-scenes look at how television programmes are created, produced and, ultimately, received by audiences.

In The Mix is in collaboration with Black Creators Matter, BBC Studios Talentworks and Barbican Creative Learning.
