Hive (15) (AD)

Still from Hive

The first film in Sundance history to win the Grand Jury Prize, Audience Award and the Directing Award in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition, Blerta Basholli's Hive is based on a true story.

At the outbreak of the Kosovan war, Fahrije's husband goes missing, and she is then tasked with the mission to provide for herself and her family within a society that still resists the idea of women being financially self-sufficient. Through selling her own ajvar and honey, Fahrije becomes an entrepreneur in her own right and recruits other women in the process.

A moving tale of resilience and versatility, Hive is a testament to the power of women.
