The Mitchells vs The Machines (PG) + Free workshop with illustrator and author Lizzy Stewart

Family Film Club

An animated family and two robots stand looking puzzled in a still from The Mitchells vs The Machines

It’s the Academy Awards tomorrow night and we’re delighted to be playing one of the favourites in the Best Animated Feature category – it’s an action-packed animation that is best on the big screen!

The Mitchells' daughter, Katie, is heading to film school and the whole family sets off on a road trip to California; but they didn’t bank on a robot uprising happening en route! Soon the family are fending off a mechanical army and fighting their way to robot HQ to disarm the big boss computer brain (voiced with aplomb by Olivia Colman).

From producers, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who brought you Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Lego Movie and featuring the voice talents of Maya Rudolph, Eric André, Fred Armisen, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

Before the film, come along at 10am for a free creative workshop with illustrator and author Lizzy Stewart

Adults can only come if they’re bringing a child, and children can only come along if accompanied by an adult. If you’re over 18, we’re afraid being a ‘big kid’ doesn’t count.
