Everything Went Fine (15)

Géraldine Pailhas and Sophie Marceau holding hands in a hospital setting in Everything Went Fine

Sophie Marceau and André Dussollier are superb in this drama about assisted dying, as a daughter comes to terms with her father’s request.

Emmanuelle (Marceau) has always remembered a difficult relationship with her father, even imagining his death as a child. Yet when André (Dussollier) entrusts this task to her, it takes on a cruel new reality. After a life of success and relative wealth, André has decided that now is the time to put an end to everything.

With a cast including Charlotte Rampling, Géraldine Pailhas and Grégory Gadebois, this is a film with some interesting dynamics, important questions, and its own thoughtful answer.
