Mapping Lessons (15*) + The Return of Osiris (12A*) ScreenTalk

Palestine Film Festival 2021

Renewed Narratives: This double bill brings together two films that use found footage to explore collective, political pasts.

In Return of Osiris, Essa Grayeb weaves together scenes from dozens of films featuring the politically devastating resignation speech of the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

In Mapping Lesson, we travel within time and place through a Middle East being colonised and experiencing other struggles for independence, so lessons can be learned for the future.

This session is followed by a ScreenTalk with Philip Rizk, Berlin-based director of Mapping Lessons and Gareth Evans,Curator of Moving Image Curator, Whitechapel Gallery.
