Blade (18) 4K Restoration + Recorded Intro by Dr Adilifu Nama

Wesley Snipes in Blade 4k

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was even a speck in the distance, there was Blade; a half-vampire, half-mortal man fighting vampires to protect mankind, based on the Marvel Comics superhero.

After his pregnant mother (Sanaa Lathan) was attacked by vampires, Blade (Wesley Snipes) was born a little… different. A half-man, half-vampire with vengeance deep in his bones, Blade straddles both worlds and uses his vampiric attributes for good; by protecting humans from vampires. Everything shifts with the appearance of Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff), who looks set to upset the balance between worlds forever.

After the announcement that Academy-Award winner Mahershala Ali was cast as Blade in the upcoming MCU version of the story, there’s never been a better time to revisit this classic on the big screen.

We have a fantastic recorded introduction from Dr Adilifu Nama, author of Super Black: American Pop Culture and Black Superheroes, who marks the cinematic and cultural significance of Blade before our special 4k screening.
