An Evening With Matthew Halsall

Manchester based jazz musician, composer and producer Matthew Halsall performs new material, deep covers and reworks from his luminous back catalogue.

Matthew Halsall has carved out a niche for himself as one of the UK’s brightest talents, with his languid, soulful records winning international acclaim. A gifted trumpeter and a key figure in the rise of the new jazz sound in the UK, Halsall’s music conjures rain streaked skies; drawing inspiration from the transcendental, spiritual-jazz of Alice Coltrane, Pharaoh Sanders and Miles Davis, merged with a blend of influences from contemporary electronica and dance music.

His latest record, Salute to the Sun is his first album as a leader since Into Forever (2015) and marks the debut of his new band.

This event will start at the advertised time, and running times will be confirmed closer to the event
