Parasite (15)

Part of Oscar Week 2020

A tense and satirical thriller from director Bong Joon-ho, winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival 2019.

This unsettling film has garnered numerous awards and nominations since it's world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where it became the first Korean film to receive the coveted Palme d'Or, plus it received a unanimous vote (the first film to do so since 2013's Blue is the Warmest Colour).

Parasite follows the Kim family, all four live in a tiny basement flat and all four are unemployed. One day they get a stroke of luck when their son, Ki-woo – though unqualified – manages to secure a lucrative tutoring job for the wealthy Park family. Slowly, the Kim family begin to infiltrate the Park household, but as their deception unravels events begin to get increasingly out of hand .

Nominated for Best Picture and Best International Feature Film.
