Part of Oscar Week 2020

a man dressed as a priest stands in front of a congregation laughing

A polish drama about a reformed criminal who poses as a small-town priest.

Daniel, a convict who undergoes a spiritual awakening, leaves his detention centre to find he is turned away from the seminary due to his criminal record. A small white lie is told and he swiftly finds himself posing as
Tomasz, the new priest in a small town.

This unsettling drama, directed by Jan Komasa, is compellingly subversive and explores what it is to be a good priest beyond the dogma and tradition.

Nominated for Best International Feature Film.
