Alice (15)

Cinema On Demand

child sitting on woman's lap looking downwards

A domestic dream turns into a nightmare for Alice when her husband disappears without a trace.

It appears that Alice has it all, a loving husband, a beautiful son called Jules and the perfect apartment and friends. But everything falls to pieces when her husband leaves without a word, and she realises he's not only strayed from the relationship but stealing money too.

Alice is at a loss, until she happens upon an elite escort business and on a whim decides to find out more about the life and income of an escort, and enter into the business in a bid to save herself and Jules from eviction.

Directed by Josephine Mackerras, Alice explores the way society can often leave women in vulnerable situations and the double standards that exist around the sex-worker industry.
