Film: Camilla's Classical: Anders Hillborg + Ivan's Childhood (12A*)

BBC SO Total Immersion: Anders Hillborg

Anders Hillborg casual

Camilla Lundberg’s documentary examining the life and work of Anders Hillborg – the perfect introduction to our 2020 Total Immersion composer.

Only ‘total immersion’ in the actual sound of Anders Hillborg’s music can communicate its extraordinary power, but that doesn’t stop Camilla Lundberg’s incisive film portrait from providing an essential and illuminating introduction to the man and his creations.

Originally seen on Swedish television, Lundberg’s film places Hillborg’s music in context and reveals the processes behind its composition. It is screened here alongside Andrej Tarkovsky’s classic Ivan’s Childhood, the first full-length feature from a master of Soviet filmmaking fully restored in 2016.

Day Pass: £37–60 plus booking fee* (only available by telephone or in person)
