Director Joanna Hogg joins us to discuss her new film, a delicate and intimate portrait of a young filmmaker's relationship with an older man. 

Dream-like and elusive, Hogg's film follows Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne), a young film student living in 1980s Kensington, as she embarks upon a tentative, then fully-fledged affair with a mysterious Foreign Office employee, Anthony (Tom Burke). 

Aided and advised by her mother (Tilda Swinton), Julie slowly begins to unravel Anthony's deceit. With a rhythm and tone all its own, this disconcerting drama beautifully lays out the experience of finding your artistic voice, and your own limits within a relationship, alongside a great contemporary soundtrack featuring The Psychedelic Furs and The Specials. 

We're delighted to have Joanna Hogg to discuss her new film after the screening, in conversation with culture writer and film critic for the Observer, Simran Hans.
