The Kingmaker (15)

Imelda Marcos standing in an opulent room wearing a red dress

From filmmaker Lauren Greenfield comes this documentary about the indomitable character of Imelda Marcos.

Greenfield gains intimate access to the Marcos family and explores their improbable return to power in the Philippines and the disturbing legacy of the Marcos regime.

The Kingmaker also chronicles Imelda's present-day push to help her son, Bongbong, with the vice-presidency. To this end, Imelda confidently rewrites her family's history of corruption, replacing it with a narrative of a matriarch's extravagant love for her country.
