Parent & Baby Screening: Eighth Grade (15)

Thirteen year old Kayla (Elsie Fisher) playing cymbals

A sensitive tribute to the awkwardness and angst of coming of age in the Selfie Generation.

Bo Burnham’s debut as writer-director captures a disastrous eighth grade for thirteen year old Kayla (Elsie Fisher), a wannabe YouTuber wading through the trudge of suburban adolescence and figuring herself out in an age of social media and self-surveillance.

Captured with pitch-perfect perceptiveness by it's former YouTube comedian director, this painfully relatable high school dramedy is brought to life by the subtlety and warmth of its indie cast.
