Carcanet Poets - John Greening and Roger Garfitt
A Barbican Library Lunchtime Poetry Reading
Join us for a free poetry reading from two Carcanet poets, John Greening and Roger Garfitt as they read from their latest collections.
John Greening’s The Silence was published in July, and includes poems on the Peak District, the Ancient Egypt of Nebamun, Finland, chalk figures and other British pre-history, as well as a tribute to the late Dennis O’Driscoll
The Action is Roger Garfitt’s third Carcanet collection. In it, he celebrates marriage in the face of loss, and it is a tribute to the natural world as it is challenged by climate change.
The readings will start at 12.30 and finish at 1.30pm.
