Fantasia (U) + Show and Tell with Tara Franks

Family Film Club

Mickey Mouse on a flying book

May's Family Film Clubs look to the magic of cinema and music! We kickstart with Disney's love letter to classical music and a show-and-tell with cellist, composer and conductor Tara Franks.

Featuring one of the most iconic scenes in Disney history (Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice), as well many other kaleidoscopic interpretations of orchestral classics - including works from Tchaikovsky, Bach, Stravinsky and Beethoven - this wonderful animation is a fantastic introduction to classical music for littl’uns.

And before the film, we’ll have our monthly show and tell with SoundsCreative Projects’ Tara Franks who’ll be inviting us to learn more about orchestral music and the conductor’s role.
