Architecture on Stage: Hans Kollhoff

Hans Kollhoff takes us through the work of his practice, characterised by its focus on the reconstruction of the European city.

Hans Kollhoff founded his practice in 1978 after completing his studies at Cornell University, where he studied under Colin Rowe and Oswald Mathias Ungers.

Key projects include the monumental Piraeus apartment building in Amsterdam (1994), which left a lasting legacy on housing design in Europe, and the Daimler Chrysler Highrise Building in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, (2000) which demonstrated the continued relevance of the language of early twentieth century American skyscrapers to contemporary needs.

The lecture will be followed by a conversation with Stephen Witherford and William Mann of Witherford Watson Mann Architects.
