Salvador Dalí – In Search of Immortality (PG*)

Afternoon Arts

A black and white photo of Salvador Dalí and his muse, Gaya

An exhaustive documentary exploring the life and work of Salvador Dalí, and that of his muse Gala, from the height of his surrealist powers in 1929 to his death in 1989.

David Pujol's documentary features unparalleled access to never before seen interviews and footage of the artist at work, showcasing Dalí's famous home-workshop in Portlligat and details his life and inspirations in Paris, New York and his hometown of Figueres.

With his status cemented amongst the masters, the documentary helps us get closer to a painter who has managed to create a character that is a work of art itself, journeying beyond the man and the painter, helping to shape his immortality as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
