Suspiria (18)

Suspiria

Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) plunges head first into horror in his homage to Dario Argento's 1970s cult hit.

A darkness swirls at the centre of a world-renowned Berlin dance company, one that will engulf the troupe’s artistic director (Tilda Swinton), an ambitious young dancer (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf). Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.

At the same time gorgeous and horrifying, Suspiria is uncompromising in its depiction of the brutality of human nature and what that means for the future of mankind. Always stunning to look at, it is unquestionably one of the most intriguing films of the year.
