Richard Reed Parry: Quiet River of Dust

Richard Reed Parry is standing in the bushes

Richard Reed Parry brings his poignant and atmospheric new folk project to the distinctive surroundings of St John on Bethnal Green.

Best known as a founding member of the Arcade Fire, Richard Reed Parry carves out a very different path with Quiet River of Dust . This is music that is both slow-moving and majestic – with Parry delicately building layers of instrumentation into songs of staggering depth. Drawing inspiration from a journey to Japan, Buddhist myths and British folk traditions when composing the material, the output is equally varied. Sometimes grandiose, sometimes subtle, but always bewilderingly beautiful.
