Parent & Baby Screening: Phantom Thread (15)

Daniel Day Lewis is making a lully little dress in Phantom Thread

Daniel Day-Lewis gives his final, and perhaps finest, performance in Paul Thomas Anderson's portrait of a man whose world unravels as he falls desperately in love.

Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) oozes refinement. His couture is amongst the most sought after in the country. The House of Woodcock, which he rules over with his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville), dresses royalty, debutants and the celebrities of the day.

Devoted to his work, he lives a contained life. But when he meets a young, maladroit waitress Alma (Vicky Krieps) in a coastal town, his controlled life is challenged by their powerful new love.

With an exquisite score by Jonny Greenwood, Paul Thomas Anderson brings his characteristically meticulous eye to the world of the artist, revelling in the sumptuous elegance of the fashion world of the 1950s.
