Nothing to be Written, a Virtual Reality experience
BBC SO Total Immersion: In Remembrance World War I
Sat 10 Nov 12pm–8pm
Sun 11 Nov 12pm-5pm
An award-winning Virtual Reality experience by Anna Meredith and 59 Productions, presented by the BBC VR Hub.
This seven-minute VR experience is a contemporary response to the First War World and takes the ‘field postcard’ as its inspiration. As one of the primary modes of communication used at this time, the ‘field postcard’ symbolises censorship of mail during World War 1 and helps brings to life the lesser-known stories of the ‘Great War’ in this important centenary year. The piece transports audiences to two worlds - the hallways across the country with families and friends waiting quietly for news, and the unrestrained violence of the trenches.
This event is free but capacity is limited; places are available on a first-come-first-served basis on the day. The experience will be shown in 15-minute time slots.
Sign up at the Level G Studio from 11.30am. The minimum age for this experience is 13. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
