Miles Ahead

with Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra & more

A young Jazz man playing a trumpet

Some of the finest young bands in the world come together in a showcase of what could well be the future of Jazz.

Hear music from Miles Davis and Gil Evans’s Miles Ahead and more played by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra, the NYOS Jazz Orchestra (part of the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland) and the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra – all introduced by the one and only Wynton Marsalis.

Before the gig the groups will have been learning from members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, including Ted Nash, as well as New York trumpeter Tatum Greenblatt; a testament to JLCO and Wynton Marsalis’s ever-expanding mission of teaching young people democracy and freedom of expression through jazz and improvisation.
