Ax/Kavakos/Ma Trio

Yo-Yo Ma, Leonidas Kavakos and Emanuel Ax

A near-matchless superstar trio; three of the world’s pre-eminent soloists – Leonidas Kavakos, Yo-Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax – come together as chamber musicians to play all three of Brahms’s Piano Trios.

From the impassioned First to the defiant Third, Brahms’s Trios span his entire creative life: an emotional autobiography that actually increases in concentration and emotional power as it progresses. This superb trio of performers will make powerful advocates.

But they’ll bring something more besides: because each member of this super-group is an experienced chamber musician in their own right. They’ve recently recorded this cycle of trios (The Financial Times described their interpretation as ‘golden in its wealth of musicianship’) and three artists of this calibre will bring all their imagination and insight to these three great testaments of a profoundly romantic spirit.
