Guildhall presents Shelagh Stephenson's play

Guildhall School presents The Memory of Water

Guildhall School presents Shelagh Stephenson’s first stage play, a poignant family drama that won Best Comedy at the 2000 Olivier Awards.

Three estranged sisters meet for their mother's funeral. In the face of such a momentous event will they be able to reconcile the very different versions of their shared childhood or are they bound to fail at distinguishing false memories from true?

Listen to our podcast with Stage Manager Samantha Agnew and cast members Poppy Allen-Quarmby, Charlotte Blandford and Tegen Short, as we discuss everything from the play's complex characters and the challenges of portraying a realistic sisterly rapport on stage, to the 90s setting and the Stage Manager's biscuit and bread budget.

Promoted by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Booking from 11 December. Priority booking for Guildhall Circle members
