Embroidery Workshop with Stitch–School

part of Make! A Season of Contemporary Craft

Close-up detail of embroidery workshop by Stitch School

Stitch–School bring their cool and contemporary approach to embroidery to the Barbican Shop, in a series of hands-on workshops.

Melanie Bowles and Aimee Betts, the brains behind Stitch–School, are hosting a series of workshops where participants will, quite literally, learn the A-Z of stitches through typographic hand-embroidery. Every letter of the alphabet is explored with its own individual technique.

Participants will receive a kit containing a printed linen sampler, an embroidery hoop, threads and stitch instructions to take home. Download the A–Z stitching guide here.

  • All materials are provided
  • No experience required
