An introduction to the artistry of Dutch soprano Nora Fischer – a singer who defies categorisation – in a witty programme of modern classics.

Nora Fischer is as comfortable in the music of the 1500s as she is in the most intricate of contemporary scores. Together with regular collaborator Daniël Kool, she presents a concert charged with playful sensuality, whether Messiaen’s lustrous lovesongs or Bernstein’s musical recipe book.

Fischer is one of the most striking talents in this season’s ECHO Rising Stars series, and in fact her artistry is already well in the ascendant. BBC Music Magazine called her “a revelation, both versatile and virtuosic”, and alongside the passion and wit of her approach to 20th century music, there’s a chance today to hear her inimitable way with contemporary repertoire, in a brand new piece by the genre-bending Dutch composer Morris Kliphuis.
