Daniel Hope – The Sound of Life (U) + ScreenTalk + Performance with Daniel Hope

Daniel Hope

A leading figure in a new generation of classical musicians, London's own Daniel Hope will speak and perform violin following a screening of a new documentary about the life of his family.

One of the world’s most prolific classical recording artists, Daniel Hope has over 25 albums to his name and numerous prestigious awards won. He is music director of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and artistic partner of the New Century Orchestra San Francisco among other roles.

The Sound of Life tells his and his family’s story – one of flight and exile, of identity and history. It is a portrait of a virtuoso musician for professional and aspiring musicians and music lovers everywhere.

Raised in London, Daniel credits Yehudi Menuhin as his inspiration for wanting to become a violinist. Daniel's mother had worked for Menuhin and it is from him that Hope has likely first heard the violin played.
