Bernstein Revealed: A Cabaret

A black and white picture of Leonard Bernstein

Memories, anecdotes and tune after glorious tune, in this cabaret tribute to the songwriting genius of Leonard Bernstein.

Lenny Bernstein was never more himself than when he was at a party and at the piano. In this evening of words and music, host Edward Seckerson and the Tony Award nominated Jason Carr are joined by singer Sophie-Louise Dann for an evening of melodies – and memories.

Edward Seckerson was one of the last people to interview Bernstein, and that very personal conversation is at the heart of this show. With songs from West Side Story, Candide, On The Town and Wonderful Town, plus forgotten gems from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Peter Pan, Mass and Trouble in Tahiti, it’s about getting close not just to the music, but the fascinating and wonderfully entertaining man who created it, too.
