Young Barbican goes to

John Akomfrah

Felled trees and a fella

Get introduced to John Akomfrah’s award winning video installation on climate change from the exhibition’s curator, Leila Hasham, plus tickets to a film selected by the man himself

British artist and filmmaker, John Akomfrah, is in The Curve with his most ambitious piece to date, Purple – an immersive six-channel video installation addressing climate change, human communities and the wilderness. We are offering our Young Barbican members an introduction to Purple with curator Leila Hasham as well as seats to see one of Akomfrah’s handpicked films, Salvatore Guiliano.

Come along to The Curve for 6.30pm and have an hour to experience Purple then move on to Cinema 2 for the film. Here you can grab some popcorn and a drink for the screening of Salvatore Guiliano, the crime story of 1950 Italy’s most wanted criminal and celebrated hero.
