Victoria & Abdul (PG)

Victoria and Abdul trailer

Judi Dench returns to cinema screens as Queen Victoria in this story of an unlikely friendship.

Set in the year of 1887, a young clerk, Abdul Karim (Ali Fazal) travels from India to partake in Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, where the two end up forming a new friendship. The Queen has become tired of her royal duties, she is bored and depressed but Abdul arrives full of wisdom and humour.

The Queen’s household and inner circle are not best pleased with this new found friendship and attempt to destroy the devoted alliance that has been built. Queen Victoria and Abdul’s friendship continues to deepen and it is with thanks to the young clerk that the Queen reclaims her humanity.

An extraordinary true story of an unexpected friendship.
