Little Wing (12A*)

Part of Finland: Independence Day season

A still from Little Wing (Tytto Nimelta Varpu)

A touching and funny kind-of-road-trip movie, about a young girl on a personal quest.

The first feature film by Selma Vilhunen, whose short film Do I have to take care of everything? received an Oscar nomination, is a touching, unconventional and at times a road movie-ish story about a 12-year-old girl, Varpu (Linnea Skog, a true find).

A young horse enthusiast, Varpu experiences growing pains with her insecure single mother (wonderfully played by singing star Paula Vesala) and wants to find her father.
