An adventurous double-bill on the EFG London Jazz Festival FreeStage, reflecting the individual qualities in today’s Turkish jazz scene. 

First up, Bilal Karaman (5pm), who in his own words, takes a ‘near east approach to jazz guitar’, echoing the jazz guitar masters with a distinctively eastern Mediterranean quality to his improvisations.  

He's followed by the Blues musician Evrencan Gündüz, whose music was developed on the Beşiktaş ferries.
